Crafting Changes

Living Skyrim 4 contains custom crafting recipes for a majority of the mod added armor and weapons added to the mod list.
This page will detail the changes made to the recipes as well as how to obtain the recipes.

How does it work?

Recipes for most mod-added equipment in Living Skyrim 4 have had the recipe requirements changed to require you to read a Crafting Book to activate the recipes in the relevant crafting station.

A majority of these can be aquired from blacksmiths around Skyrim, some are placed in the world, these will be detailed in a later section.

Once you aquire a book, reading it once will "learn" the recipes, reading it a second time will "unlearn" the recipes.

This means you no longer are required to carry around the crafting books all the time.

You may still require additional smithing perks, such as Ebony, Deadric etc. depending on the recipe.

Please note there are some crafting books that will not function in this manner, if you notice any that do not provide this functionality and you would like them to, please let us know on Discord.

How do I find the books?

The majority of the books can be found from Blacksmiths around Tamriel. The level requirement column shows the minimum required Player Level for the crafting books to begin showing at blacksmiths. The books also require a relative level of skill to actually learn the recipes, you will recieve a notification if your smithing level is too low to learn the recipes.
