Empyrean features Wounds, and Follower Death and Injury Chance. Wounds will cause you to have a variety of different, you guessed it, wounds applied throughout combat. The longer combat lasts, the more likely you are to get injured. These can range anywhere from a simple bruise, to a shattered bone. They will take time to heal, but can be treated by yourself through the Treat Wounds lesser power, healed through a potion specific to the injury, a healer that can be found in any of the walled cities temples, or by Megara, Katana's other companion. With Follower Death and Injury Chance, all of the vanilla followers, and some custom ones, can be killed by enemies if they sustain too many injuries. There will be a notification in the top left corner of your screen that informs you of when a companion needs help, whe they have become injured, and when they have died. Companions will heal their own injuries over time, so if one is injured, its best to dismiss them for a short while so they can recover. A dead follower can be looted normally, as any other corpse you may find in Skyrim.
